SO ....

I just finished sending my resume to ten prospective employers.  If the planets do not align on 12-21-12 and the end of existence as we know it does not occur, I can hope to hear back from any one of these prospective employers approximately ... never.

While job searching, I happened to stumble onto You Tube where there were lots of helpful videos for the mature job seeker (aka useless humanoids) on how to interview successfully.  Such as "how to ask the right questions during an interview" or  "how to spin your biggest weakness into a positive and "how to explain resume gaps" (this is crucial because if you've been unemployed more than a hot minute you seriously have some esplainin to do); and my favorite ... "how to negotiate your salary" (LMAO).
Everyone knows that drones do not negotiate their salaries.

    1. Thank you my friend. Who knows???? Maybe I won't even need a job after 12-21-12 LOL!
      HAPPY HOLIDAYS LINDA!

  2. A gap in a resume can be caused by taking time off the care for a dying relative. Then wipe a tear away from your eye. I hope things turn around for you.

  3. I have an 18 year gap in my resume, so it completely terrifies me to ever even apply for a job. And since I'm an online college dropout, well, I'm not exactly a success story. Thankfully I married well. LOL! That may have to be the direction I'd send an interview to...I'd better stick to volunteering.

  4. RJSS8878 and Heart-in-Hand - THANKS FOR COMMENTING! I am hopeful and really just wanted to point out how ridiculous it is to get a job these days. It seems the old reliables: conscientious, prompt, able to read and write, and YEARS AND YEARS of experience are not enough these days. It's crazy LOL!
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

  5. Deb, my friend--I so wish you the best of everything for 2013. I feel your pain, truly. It just SUCKS the big one when employers, in their effing 30's, are looking at people like us and making us feel so obsolete. Love your stuff. You are such a wonderful writer--I could tell you that you should write comedy sketches or screen plays--but I know that you want a consistent paycheque. You still should, though. I hope something turns up and you can fill your glass up. With Margaritas. Love you!

  7. Deb--I meant to comment when you saw the Everyone Has a Plan movie. Lucky you! I'll have to wait and wait....

Go see Les Miz, if you haven't already seen it. OMG--I thought I was going to have to call 911. Happens every time I see it--and I've seen the stage production about 1/2 a dozen times. Beyond my expectations, and so healing.

    1. You are my favorite person on earth! I hope you get to see Viggo's latest. I don't know if they're going to release it world wide but I'll cross my fingers. You'd love it. We went to see Django Unchainged. I love Quentin Tarantino. It was good but not as good as Inglorious Bastards. Will have to check out Les Miz ... heard it's fantastic. Hope your Xmas was beautiful and your New Year brings you nothing but great things. XOXO
      love you so much!

  8. Aww, and to you, Deb! Viggo's latest will get here....Django kind of disappointed me, and I thought that Jamie Foxx wasn't right for the role....and that there was way too much gore, even for Tarantino, & I'm also a fan. Thought it was too long, too. Christoph Waltz & S L Jackson NAILED it, though! I liked Inglorious Basterds much better as well, but Pulp Fiction is still my favourite. Also check out Sessions, if you haven't already--excellent! All the very best to you in 2013--joy, fulfillment, contentment. xoxo

      XOXO
