Dear Diary:

*SIGH* ... Still unemployed. It's been four months but it feels like four years. I keep thinking I'm 57 and I'm not. I think it's because the last time I was unemployed it was two years between jobs and since I'm 55 now I guess somewhere in my psyche I figure I'll be 57 when I get my "next job".

Many thoughts.

I don’t want to go back to work. I don’t. I’m 55 years old. I’m tired. Tired of dealing with back-stabbing co-workers, disrespectful bosses, corporate machinations and inhuman expectations. It can be a soul robbing experience and 35+ years is enough. Being home, no one tells me what to do, how to do it, or how fast I should be able to do it. I have no one breathing down my neck, grading my performance, holding back a raise because I’m not meeting someone’s ridiculous expectations. I am the Queen of my domain. Yes, I have no money to spend on luxuries or extras, but that’s okay. What I’ve gained being outside the work place is a certain peace of mind. I have worked all of my life. Did each job with a conscientious attitude. I always took work seriously. Never abused sick time, or took unnecessary leaves. I put up with insane bosses who belittle, scream and yell … because they can. I have been denigrated with less than great reviews (because we can never tell anyone they’re doing a great job because they will become less fearful of our all powerful ability to take away their pay, bonuses, raises, livelihood).

The workplace in corporate America is a hell-hole that one needs to learn how to maneuver instead of a place one goes to earn a paycheck and feel useful. The pride that comes from doing a good days work and the knowledge that you are contributing to society, whether it’s defending people who have been wronged, or simply typing the paperwork to help in that effort no longer exists. The workplace is not for human beings. It is a place where the Corporation is now the human being and the human being is a machine that amounts to numbers on a page and then more numbers that determine the degrees of perfection one must meet in order to keep ones head above water. WAH WAH WAH.

BUT ... I am realistic. I was never one of those women who expected a man to "take care of me." OK OK, maybe once or twice I wanted to be rescued but I always knew that that was not realistic. A woman should always know how to take care of herself. PERIOD. And because I have always been a worker, when I married, I believed it was the two of us together, contributing and working to prepare for our Golden Years. That is why I feel so bad about not contributing. Can't help it.

I haven't posted anything of real note lately, except my rant against Rush Limburger and that's because I don't wanna whine about the same old thing. I could just re-post from years past.

Here's the thing. When one does ones due diligence, combs the employment websites, sends countless resumes, says YES to any and all temp jobs that are offered only to get the follow up phone call ".... uh, sorry. We've decided to go with another candidate" ... it's not that you lose hope, it's more like you learn not to get excited about ANYTHING. The phone call from a friend "hey, they're hiring?! Send me you resume!" ... yeah, whatever. It's not that I don't care, really ... but disappointment can do that to you. I keep trucking however. Despite all the door slamming, test taking stresses, the NO NO NO's, the "please do not respond to this email" emails, I keep doing what I must.

I do believe that God is in control. My husband disagrees with this. He believes that WE are in control of our lives (he really doesn't get it) ... we are in control of NOTHING. Five months ago I had a job. Today I don't. I had nothing to do with that. I cannot pull a job out of a hat. I have no idea what the future holds or if I will find work next month, next year or never. So, ... once again, I ask for your patience in allowing me to be self-indulgent.

Hope everyone reading this is happy, healthy, employed. SERIOUSLY.

Awwwww ... Tamra and Eddie are engaged!

1. Eddie, are you sure you wanna marry a two-time loser with four kids? Seriously dude. You're only 39.

2. Tamra, are you sure you wanna make yet another mistake by marrying for the third time, possibly adding to your family (because women like you always wanna have a baby from their man) and face yet another divorce?

Going once,

going twice ...

in that case ...

p.s. Doesn't Eddie looks like a chipmunk?

RUSH ...

I have been following the Rush Limbaugh debacle all week like a madwoman. The blog sphere has exploded with articles and comments from the public and I have done my share of letting my opinion be known on various websites. I have signed as many petitions that have been generated to get him off the air and applauded the sponsors who have left him. I am waiting for Clear Channel to fire him.

It is true that there are many "shock jocks" and "entertainers" on radio from both the left and the right. I do find the right to be more uptight than the left, but with that said, it does not dismiss some of the horrible things that the left have also said. Bill Maher for one.

What I think America is really saying about Rush Limbaugh is that they are tired of ALL racist/sexist/prejudiced/misogynistic commentary on the airwaves. America is desperate for intelligent, measured and grown-up debate/commentary. When I was a little girl, Walter Cronkite was the most respected man in America. And he was. He never gave his personal opinion. He reported the news ... the facts, and the American public could make up their own mind with regard to politics and policy.

Today there are so many personalities on TV and radio who incite the public's ire because it makes for good TV and/or radio. It is all geared to a viewing audience that is quite literally, mentally challenged and cannot pay attention long enough to consider their own opinions because they don't know how to THINK. After about a minute you have to bring out the crayons.

I know I can get down and dirty too. When I write my opinions or comment on pop culture like the Jersey Shore, the Housewife franchise I do so because it's easy. Free speech is a right and thank God for it. I can write on my blog about how much I hate Rush Limbaugh, or any other political figure I choose to pick on and no one is going to come and arrest me. But where does one draw the line? When Limbaugh called President Obama, "Barak the Magic Negro", I found that HIGHLY offensive and without a doubt RACIST. When Bill Maher referred to Sarah Palin as the C word, HIGHLY offensive.

Perhaps these "personalities" get so carried away with their power and so called influence that they truly believe they are the only capable harbingers of truth, as they see it, and therefore no one need question them. And yes, you don't have to watch their programs or listen to their radio shows, which I don't because when I do I feel like I need to take a shower afterward, or I have become so enraged at what I am listening to and so frustrated with my inability to communicate my feelings with that person that ... well it's just not healthy.

These incendiary personalities seem to have become our psychological representatives. For all of us that were bullied by the big kids on the big playground, there is now a personality to speak for you, in the language of the bully who taunted and picked on you. Think about it. Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Bill Maher. All different variations of extreme.

The point I want to make is that America is really so tired of all this B.S. Talk to us and don't be afraid to use big words. We get it. The C word is NEVER okay, EVER. Racist/sexist and
misogynistic language is NEVER okay, EVER. By sponsors pulling their ads and personalities getting suspended or fired, this happens because the public makes it happen. We are not here to serve you, you are here to serve us. With intelligent debate. Thoughtful discourse. And most importantly, RESPECT. The one thing that no longer seems to exist.

Philippians 2:3

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself;

A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes - Mahatma Ghandi

The way to procure insults is to submit to them. A man meets with no more respect than he exacts. - William Hazlitt

I'm done.

RUSH ... please, please expire

Ok. We all know I HATE Rush Limbaugh. And frankly, I've made it a point to avoid him because he makes me so angry that when I see he's said or done something new and hateful I don't even bother to investigate because he brings out the hate in me, that I hate in him. BUT, I MUST COMMENT on his latest comments and slanderous words with regard to the Georgetown University law student whom he called a "slut" and a "prostitute".

Sandra Fluke (the Georgetown student) had been previously blocked from testifying before a Republican-led, all-male congressional panel on contraception and religious freedom.

Limbaugh said Fluke was just trying to promote casual sex for her support of women’s access to birth control.

Here is his exact quote:

"What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke (sic) who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex — what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute.”

Then he went on to say:

“She wants to be paid to have sex,” Limbaugh continued. “She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception.”

And then ...

“I will buy all of the women at Georgetown University as much aspirin to put between their knees as they want.”

And then ...

“So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal,” Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday. “If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

I'm an old broad now, but when I was single I paid for my birth control. Insurance NEVER covered it. It was $30 a month ... multiply that by 20+ years. IT WAS EXPENSIVE but I was responsible, and I'm a Catholic. I took care of myself and did not have any children outside of marriage. Something YOU should approve of you a**hole.

There are many interesting comparisons I could make with regard to Rush. Mhmmmm ... let's start with these:

1. We all know Rush can't get it up without Viagra (does his insurance cover this? I'm sure it does .... because he's A MAN).

2. We all know that Rush loves Oxycontine (aka Hillbilly heroin) ... does his insurance cover this or not? I guess we'll never know the answer to this one, but he does manage to get it, take it, abuse it, whatever, you hypocritical fat walrus.

3. We all know Rush loves to smoke big expensive cigars ... oral fixation? Absolutely. Me thinks that Rush would secretly love to have a big ol dick rammed up his butt hole. (Disgusting I know but no more disgusting than the tripe that comes out of his mouth, so there).

4. How many times has he been married now? (Although I have to say I cannot understand why any female in her right mind would get naked with a fat walrus). I guess having gazillions of dollars helps.

So, beside my sarcastic viewpoint, the real reason I HAD to write about this is because this is what America has become. A good portion of the U.S. population think that Rush Limbaugh is God incarnate. THIS IS FRIGHTENING BEYOND BELIEF. His views on women are those of one who dwells in a cave. The fact that he is still on the air is beyond unbelievable to me, although I think this latest stunt is going to cause him some serious backlash. One advertiser has already pulled their ads from his radio show and President Obama called Sandra Fluke to offer his support and encouragement. Rush, you may have gone too far this time ... let's hope so. You need to take your $$$$$$$$$$$$ and disappear to a deserted island somewhere and live out your days in obscurity. I could go toe-to-toe with my own hateful rhetoric about your miserable existence but I won't. Instead, I'll just let your words speak for themselves.

Here are a few quotes for you to mull over:

Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream.
Rush Limbaugh

“I"I mean, let's face it, we didn't have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I'm not saying we should bring it back; I'm just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.
Rush Limbaugh

"You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray. We miss you, James. Godspeed." Rush Limbaugh

(This is plain sick. James Early Ray assissinated Martin Luther King ... and this MORON HAS A RADIO SHOW!!!!! GOD HELP US!!)

"The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."

Rush Limbaugh

"I think I'm going to send Sotomayor, and her club, a bunch of vacuum cleaners to help them clean up after their meetings." ~ Rush Limbaugh about Sonia Sotomayor, Supreme Court Justice)

This is just a small sampling of the hateful, racist, sexist comments that spew from this hateful little man's mouth. America, please jump on the bandwagon and let's get rid of this man and his twisted influence on America. It's time. He needs to go. Contact his sponsors and tell them how you feel about his racist/sexist and backward attitude. We are tired of it.

I hope and pray that Susan Fluke SUES his fat ass for slander and that she wins BIG. He has to be stopped. But more than that, GET HIM OFF THE RADIO!!!!
